PROFILE

I have a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the Madras Christian College, and am a proud member of the alumni association. In 2000, I received a Bachelors Degree in Law from the Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai. Between 2002 and 2004, I lived in Europe. I studied for a Masters in Law in International Law with International Relations at the Brussels School of International Studies. After Completing my degree, I was invited by the Kent Law School of the University of Kent at Canterbury as a Teaching Assistant in British Constitutional Law, while undertaking the research for a Ph.D. After doing M.Phil. level work, I demitted to return to India.

I am currently Senior Partner and Legal Strategist of PVS Giridhar Associates - Law Chambers, a 35 year-old law firm known for integrity in service and excellence in research. ​My work experience includes legal and strategy work in a number of areas related to business and innovation. I co-founded and headed IP DOME Strategy Advisors for 10 years to explore a new model of IPR related legal services. My colleagues in the company were engineers and scientists. The company is today being run by my former colleague, Mr. Hariprasad Karnam as CEO.

I sit on the Board of studies of the Symbiosis School of Law, and the department of sociology at Stella Maris College and at Loyola College. I teach law, technology and IPR at several institutions including at NALSAR University of law, Hidayatullah National Law University, Asian College of Journalism, NIFT-Chennai, IIT-M, Madras Christian College, and several engineering and law colleges in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. I draft SOPs and guidelines, and train institutions, such as the Rotary District 3232  in implementing guidelines. As a practicing lawyer and legal-strategist, I bring to teaching assignments a combination of real-world experience, legal excellence and business fluency which are much appreciated by students and faculty.

I am the Chairperson of the Apollo Biomedical Research Ethics Committee, of the MCC-MRF Institutional Innovation Centre. I am a member of several ethics committees in the city, including the NIE-ICMR committee, and the committees of Fortis-Malar, Tagore Dental College, Balaji Dental College and SIMS hospital. Until last year, I was member of the IIT-Madras Ethics Committee, and the ethics committee of the National Institute of Siddha. I write on contemporary and technical subjects, and enjoy reading. I lead an active lifestyle with dancing, running, fitness and, when possible, trekking and hiking.
